Romanian Petition CLOSED

It saddens me to notify the community that due to overwhelmingly low spread and low number of signatures the petition to stop the Canadian Gabriel Resources gold-mine in Romania has been closed.

I will reopen it shortly, but must for now focus on petitions with more potential as I cannot win several battles at once alone.

The main motivations for not taking action when polled was "I dont feel this is relevant enough to me" as well as "I have doubts as to online petitions effectiveness".

It saddens me to read these words, as the entire reason that Avaaz exists is to empower the common human being. We can a ll make a change, and Avaaz has proved this on numerus occasions.

Please stand with us when we reopen this petition, and help us make a change! We cannot do this alone, and our Romanian friends cannot fight this battle on their own.

Together the most uninfluential of people can become the strongest political instrument in the world. We already have. Lets keep it that way.
