Feature addition to EcoROM!
Ny feature för personlig säkerhet! En av de större uppdateringarna i nuvarande beta-version.
When you unlock the screen the phone is, as in previous versions, listening to your voice commands actively á la Moto X. This feature works through Google Now.
If you find yourself in distress, under attack or are seriously hurt, you will probably want to contact emergency services. This can however be hard on a modern smartphone due to most of them lacking physical keys which makes it hard to type without seeing where you're hitting on the screen.
However now, we are adding Emergency Response to this active listening. This means that whenever you find yourself in distress, unlock the screen (Unless you are running Constant Listening, which defaults to Off), and then say, yell or scream a preset phrase. At this poin the phone will enter Emergency mode, which opens a custom screen (Pictured below) and automatically send a text message to the contacts you communicate most with, as well as automatically dial the local emergency service number.
Once this feature is stable, we will also add a siren, which will produce a loud siren noise to attract attention and scare off attackers.
The phone can then be unarmed at first after 3 minutes unless a pin-code is entered, which means that if you are under attack your attacker cannot simply turn it off, unless they break the device. This should buy the phones owner at least a couple of seconds more. Those seconds can make all the difference.
Beta-group 1 should have this update pushed this evening. Group 2 is not scheduled for this test as of now.
