Professor Layton har en lång och fin karriär med två trilogier på DS och 3DS. I sommar är serien aktuell igen med Layton's Mystery Journey till Android, Ios och (i sinom tid) 3DS.
Level-5 är sugna på Switch, som ju är en bärbar och stationär hybridkonsol. Det finns dock ett problem: den stationära sidan hos Switch. Det visar sig nämligen att teamet jobbar på att få Layton till Switch. Men hur löser man det faktum att Switch saknar pekskärm i stationär form? I en intervju med Eurogamer säger studions vd och Layton-producent Akihiro Hino:
I love the Switch. I think it's amazing hardware. The problem is, the Layton series does a lot with the touchscreen and pointing. So, the problem with the Switch is, if you play on handheld you can do it, but if you put it on the dock... we're trying to figure out how that would play into it.
Hino tillägger att om de "lyckas ta sig runt problemet" är chanserna stora att vi får se nästa Layton-äventyr på Switch. Alternativa kontroller? Joy-Cons som pekdon? Det finns en rad lösningar och vi hoppas Level-5 hittar en bra sådan. Mer Layton på fler format låter ju som en bra grej.
